Pre-race routine:
does trying not to cry or throw up count?
Event warmup:
no time to warm up - arrived with only enough time to set up transition area.
I never got the opportunity for an open water swim before the race. I was definately affected by a few things: Not being able to see the bottom, the murkiness of the water, and the physical contact by the other racers. I was elbowed in the nose pretty hard and people were grabbing my ankles - what is it with that?!
What would you do differently?:
Open water swim training. Definately.

My training was focused on getting my body into shape - not the finer details. Not even close to a decent amount of bike training so jumping on the bike was out of the question. For being my first transition, I was satisfied.
What would you do differently?:
I'll practice some of the finer points that lead to efficiency: running with the bike, getting on the bike from a run, getting in the pedals quicker

I only got back on a bike after 20 years a week before the race. I need to learn a lot of the finer points of riding before my next race
What would you do differently?:
Hill training for darn sure!

I was satisfied with my T2 - like everything else, I'm still working on the finer points. I was really happy I brought a second pair of socks to change into before the run!!
What would you do differently?:
this transition went pretty good - probably could have run less awkwardly with the bike with some practice!

I still hate running. I only barely tolerate it. It's good for me or that's what they tell me. At least for this race it's only 1/3 of the equation. And I hate running UP hills. Really really hate it. I walked the first .5 miles or so just because I wan't prepared to run uphill. Physchologically, there was no flat spots to focus on as a goal, only an uphill course that went forever.
What would you do differently?:
inerval training and hill training. For sure.

Warm down:
none - I had to get somewhere for work immediately afterwards
What limited your ability to perform faster:
training. Just training. I did well for only 4 months of training, I'm happy with my results.
